“Pulp Fiction” VS. “Slash Fiction”
Happy 100th birthday Mary Blair!!!
Mary Blair (October 21, 1911 – July 26, 1978), born Mary Robinson, was an American artist who was prominent in producing art and animation for The Walt Disney Company, drawing concept art for such films as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Song of the South and Cinderella.
First it occurred to me that I did not actually know what Mary Blair looked like then I realized that I always expected her to look like a tiny adorable storybook character, not a badass war veteran.
Happy Birthday, Mary Blair! She can beat you two ways to sideways with her slick-ass design skills, she is THAT amazing 😀
(she kinda looks like the Bride from Kill Bill, yes? She was one of my biggest influences in school, I kinda went crazy when the Disney Family Museum had all the stuff from her Tokyo show. I bought all the things -_-;;)
“Tooth Fairy Affair” by Izabela Melamed.
“Tooth Fairy Affair is Izabela’s independent short film, an expression of her love for traditional animation and storytelling; the embodiment of her lifelong fascination with emotions inspired by the unparalleled classic artistic technique of drawing with pencil on paper, frame by frame.
Directon, animation, artwork, compositing – Izabela Melamed

It is a dead, lightless world, where a little girl, despite her father’s renunciation and despair facing the death of his wife, maintains their dream of building a machine powered by magic winds to fly and reach the sun.”
Beautiful environments and great lighting. Take a look at the blogs if you’re interested in some beautiful visual development artwork.
What a fool I was, what a dominated fool to think YOU were the earth and sky…
